Do I need to pay anything during the 2026 beta?
No. The 2026 beta is completely free for every signed-up family. We don't collect credit card or payment details to join. The pricing tiers shown above describe our planned model after public launch — they're not active today.
What will SmartPrepai cost after launch?
Four simple terms, one identical feature set: $49/month, $99/quarter, $199/6 months, or $399/year — longer terms simply cost less per day. A permanent free tier will remain for core practice, founding members lock in 20% off their first paid year automatically, and siblings (children 2–4 on one account) are 50% off. Today, everything is free in beta.
What exams does SmartPrepai cover?
NAPLAN (Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 across Reading, Writing, Numeracy, Spelling, Grammar & Punctuation), the NSW Opportunity Class test, the NSW Selective High School test, and HSC subjects. NAPLAN content is aligned to the national ACARA framework; the NSW OC and Selective content is aligned to the official NSW test structures and is live today. Customised practice for the VIC, QLD, WA and SA selective/entrance tests is now live in beta — including WA and SA Abstract Reasoning — alongside NAPLAN nationally. ACT, TAS and the NT have no selective exam, so NAPLAN is the fit there.
How does the AI Study Buddy actually help my child?
When your child is stuck on a question, the Study Buddy gives age-appropriate hints — never the answer. It nudges the next step, asks clarifying questions, and adapts to how 10–17 year olds actually think. Every interaction also feeds the methodology report you and your tutor see.
What's the 100-level progression system?
A full year of preparation is structured as a 100-level journey across Bronze, Silver and Gold mastery tiers — Explorer, Trailblazer and Pathfinder. Kids see real momentum from short daily sessions, and you see exactly which sub-skills are building.
How do you handle wellbeing and screen time?
Wellbeing checks are built into every session. Holiday mode automatically dials practice down during school breaks. Intense mode is opt-in with parental consent for the weeks before a real exam. We'd rather a child do 15 honest minutes than 60 resentful ones.
What does the parent dashboard actually show?
What your child worked on, where they're confident, where they're stuck, and conversation prompts for tonight — in plain English. Plus a weekly digest emailed every Sunday. No jargon, no assumption you remember Year 5 fractions yourself.
Can I link my child's existing tutor?
Yes. Parents can invite a tutor to link with a student's profile. Tutors get performance reports between sessions and can leave methodology feedback that the AI learns from. Both parent and student can unlink a tutor at any time.
Can I add multiple children?
Yes — multiple linked student profiles per parent today in beta. After public launch, additional children (children 2–4 on one account) get a 50% sibling discount on the base subscription.
What happens when the beta ends?
You'll get 60 days' notice. Founding members lock in 20% off their first paid year — automatically, no code needed. If you don't want to continue, just stop. No auto-charge, no dark patterns.
Do I get founding member pricing today?
Yes — every family that signs up during beta is automatically a founding member. When paid plans go live, 20% off your first year is applied automatically.
Why are minimum commitments shown on the plans above?
The Committed, Focused, and All In plans describe billing periods (3 months, 6 months, or a full year) billed upfront at a discount. The Flexible plan has no minimum and bills monthly. Beta members are not bound by any commitment.
Will I be able to pause my subscription later?
Yes — once paid plans go live, you'll be able to pause for up to 30 days per year at no additional cost (great for school holidays or busy periods).
How does the P&C revenue share work?
Automatically. When paid tiers launch, 30% of every subscription goes to your child's school P&C committee, deposited quarterly. Nothing to tick, nothing extra to pay — and your school decides what it funds.
Do I need an invite code to join?
No. SmartPrepai beta is open to everyone — sign up and verify your email. If you have a referral or promo code you can enter it on your dashboard, but it's optional. Codes are used for tracking and campaigns, not access.
Why do I need to verify my email?
It activates your free beta access and keeps bots out. After signing up, check your inbox (and junk folder) for the verification link — you can't sign in until it's confirmed.
Where is my child's data stored, and is it used to train AI?
Data is stored in our Australian-hosted backend with role-based access controls. Practice content and Study Buddy interactions are not used to train third-party AI models.
